Place D’Orleans Mall – A reader writes:  “Large nursing room (“Place Bébé”) off the food court on the upper level. Four glider chairs in a common area, one in an alcove with a curtain. Colourful decorations, very cheerful. Also has nice changing facilities with free supplies. Smaller nursing room on the ground floor near the bathrooms that are beside the bookstore. Only room for one, very private, but old and a bit dingy.”

One reader sent all this info.  Many thanks!
“Note that in all the large (multi-person) nursing rooms in the Ottawa area, it is fairly common for men to accompany the nursing mothers. None that I’ve seen forbid men from entering.

Bayshore Shopping Centre “Family washroom on ground floor (across from the Cinnabon) has a private area, but it’s not very comfortable (poorly-padded bench). There is no sign advertising nursing facilities, so if you don’t go in, you won’t find it.”

Rideau Centre Mall – Sears has a room with one rocking chair and a change table in the baby/children’s section. It’s not very nice, and I don’t think the door locks.

Carlingwood Mall – Nursing room off the food court with two high-backed chairs and a changing area. This has been renovated recently and is very nice and clean.
St. Laurent Centre -Nursing room off the food court with three rocking armchairs and changing area. Recently renovated and fairly nice, but sometimes not as clean as it could be. Sears has a tiny room in the baby section that is barely big enough for the glider chair and change table they have in there. Toys R Us has a “parenting room” in the Babies R Us section. This has one glider chair and a changing area. It’s often not super clean.
Ikea – Tiny nursing room in the cafeteria with a big arm chair and changing area with free supplies (but they are often all out). Because so many people come with babies around lunchtime, there is sometimes a line-up.”

Zellers
High Park
2290 Dundas Street West

I’m waiting for details on this one. Leave a comment if you have more info!

Sears at the Eaton Centre – 290 Yonge Street at Dundas St.
3rd floor in the kids’ section. 2 gliding rockers and a change table.
A reader writes: “It doesn’t feel very clean in there. The chairs face each other, so it can be a little awkward sometimes. But the room is inside the change rooms, so it does feel very private.”

The Bay at Bloor & Yonge
44 Bloor Street East at Yonge St.
Kids’ Section
A reader writies: “One chair and a fold down change table. A rather miserable closet of a room, but it’s privacy if you need it.”

Dufferin Mall
900 Dufferin Street south of Bloor
Close to the food court bathrooms
A reader writes: “2 large chairs, private parent & child bathroom (with child sized toilet), microwave, 2 change tables with a sink in between. This one is nice enough, but not really private at all. A new breastfeeding momma may still feel exposed.

Yorkdale Mall
Close to the bathrooms. 2 locations in the mall.
A reader writes: “Yorkdale’s nursing rooms are the best I’ve ever seen! Newly renovated, well maintained, high ceilings, mothers & children only, several very comfortable chairs (10?), two private mom & child bathrooms (with child sized toilets), sink, microwave, lots of stroller parking.
A four star nursing room. My only complaint would be that they might have thought to have one other small ‘family’ room. A tiny baby can nurse for an hour; how crummy to be a waiting dad! And what if Dad is shopping alone and wants a quiet place to give baby a warmed bottle? Not my husband’s fave, but I LOVE it there. I’ve had many a lovely chat with other nursing mommas.
One MAJOR downside to the mall is that via transit the mall isn’t stroller accessible! Once you’re in, you’re fine, but getting there? Yeesh.”

Fairview Mall – A reader writes: “There’s a new nursing room in Fairview Mall (Toronto, ON) at the 401&404.  It’s in the woman’s washroom in the foodcourt. Has three chairs, a microwave and a change station.”
